KRAKEN Acquisition Software

Ultrafast Imaging made easy

Ultrafast imaging can be challenging. Many users encounter difficulties due to custom-built setups and complex software. Our KRAKEN Turnkey Ultrafast Microscope aims to simplify this process. Our software prioritizes ease of use, guiding you from sample loading to scan parameter optimization. We provide intuitive controls for beginners while offering advanced users deep access.

Hyperscans – accessible with a few keystrokes

Hyperscans are a valuable feature of the KRAKEN Turnkey Ultrafast Microscope. By varying parameters like wavelength, delay time, or focus, ultrafast imaging contrast can be significantly enhanced and insight into your sample can be gained. We aim to make the hyperscan functionality accessible and seamlessly integrated within the microscope’s workflow. In the KRAKEN Software, hyperscans are initiated through a dedicated tab: simply select the parameters to vary, define limits and resolution, and start your scan.

Once acquired, data visualization is essential. The KRAKEN Software facilitates everyday visualization tasks directly. You can navigate the hypercube using a slider, plot spectra or decays simply by hovering above the image, or select an area to continuously display its spectrum or decay curve.

Transient Absorption Images Faster Than Your Lunch Break

With its “Imaging First” approach, by sweeping laser wavelengths and decay times, the KRAKEN Microscope can quickly acquire transient absorption images. Images are readily exported as n-dimensional .tiff files for post-analysis or can be analyzed directly in the KRAKEN software similarly to other hyperscans: Hovering across the image live-displays the corresponding transient absorption spectrum and slices along the spectral and temporal axis.
